BACK IN TIME: IDEAS FOR RETRO LOOK
I’ve always been inspired by vintage and classy looks. Curious by nature as I am, I like to imagine how they lived 50 or 40 years ago. Their vintage style and fashion give me a few glimpses of lifestyle and norms back then. Women used to choose classy and modest outfits, but there was also room for new experiences, though not that extravagant as in today’s world.
7 Ways to Create Retro Look:
1. Wear a headband or a headscarf
Even if you don’t know how to style your hair, you can just revive your hair with a headscarf or a headband, put a blouse with your favourite patterns, combine it with a skirt and get that glam retro look. Red lipstick is also recommended.
2. Poodle, pencil or a swing skirt?
You can choose from various types of skirts. Pencil skirts, for example, are very popular in business world, as they make elegant and professional look.
3. Polka dots and patterns
Polka dots are always a good choice if you’re trying to get the vintage look. If you’re not that much fan of dots, you can also decide for other patterns like stars, oriental print, stripe or hearts (like the woman on the photo below).
4. CURLY HAIR
Curly hair never goes out of style, especially if you want to get romantic look. Add some bobby pins and a bow to stand out even more.
5. CHUNKY HEELS
6. HAND GLOVES AND PEARLS
Who said hand gloves are old fashioned? They are just super classy and only real divas dare to wear them. If you prefer jewelry or accessories you can also add pearls and elegant earrings.
7. FABULOUS MAKEUP
The good thing with retro makeup is that you can exaggerate with colours and makeup. Overdrawn lips, heavily penciled brows and winged eyeliners – choose whichever you like. Do not forget to apply your favorite lipstick in radiant shades such as violet, red or dark brown, for the shy ones, you can still use beige and peachy tones. Add some extra layer of mascara or fake eyelashes to draw attention to your eyes.
